The volume of passenger is expected to grow significantly in the Montparnasse station as a result of the opening of several new high speed lines: Tour-Bordeaux in 2017 and then Bordeaux-Toulouse and Bordeaux-Dax.

In that context, the station needs to be adapted to offer passengers as good level of service as possible and a safe environment.

EXPLAIN was chosen by RATP to develop a pedestrian model that covers the whole metro area (4 metro lines) and to evaluate the impact of several scenarios so as to identify the most efficient solution.
